As part of the official programme during his visit to the UK, the Deputy Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Vu Van Ninh attended the Business Forum organised by the Vietnam – UK Network and sponsored by Harvey Nash and Prudential on 14th April. The event attracted more than 100 representatives from British companies, showing a strong interest in Vietnam’s fast growing market, particularly in finance, banking, infrastructure development and energy sectors

Delivering the keynote speech at the forum, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh affirmed the Vietnamese government’s commitment to push forward economic reform and integration into the world’s economy. He said the country will take measures to improve the business environment and legal frameworks to attract more British investment to Vietnam. Bilateral trades between Vietnam and the UK in 2013 reach 4.2 billion USD, enjoying a rapid growth rate of 15-20% a year. British foreign direct investment to Vietnam currently stands at 3 billion USD, making the UK the third largest investors in the UK.
