Some 50 supporters of the Network and their guests had the great pleasure of attending a special piano recital by the outstanding British-Vietnamese pianist Tra Nguyen on 25 May. This unique VUKN event, generously sponsored by Harvey Nash/Nash Tech, took place in the intimate surroundings of the 1901 Arts Club in Waterloo. The audience, which filled the Club, was treated to a delightful programme chosen by Tra Nguyen of Mendelssohn, Medtner and Chopin. It was preceded and followed by much lively networking in the cosy upstairs lounge and bar. VIP guests included HE Ambassador Thao and Embassy colleagues, the Rt Hon George Howarth MP, and Graham Brady MP and his wife. There were words of welcome from VUKN Chairman Ben Chapman and thanks at the end from Vice Chairman Warwick Morris. The event was filmed by VietnamTV for news broadcasts in Vietnam and overseas. Tra Nguyen, who was charm personified, is now going to Vietnam for some months but kindly expressed her willingness to be involved with the Network again in the future.
