After thanking VAVA President, General Nguyen Van Rinh, for his welcome and presentation on the valuable work that VAVA does, four generations on, Warwick described the background, objectives and activities of the VUKN. He explained that Len, who had founded the Britain-Vietnam Friendship Group (BVFG) many years ago and was a longstanding supporter of VAVA, had also been Joint President of the VUKN since its inauguration in 2013. It was to honour Len’s memory and to recognize his work for the BVFG in support of victims of Agent Orange/Dioxins that the VUKN Committee had decided to make a donation to VAVA. Present for the ceremony at VAVA headquarters were several VAVA Board Members and officials as well as representatives of the local media. Warwick was pleased to be joined by Hoang Van Dzung, Chairman, and two other members, of the Vietnam-UK Friendship Association (VUFA), with whom the VUKN is to sign an MOU later this year to further cooperation between the two like-minded organisations.’
